Thank you for praying
Dear Friends,
Thank you for praying.
It looks like the headaches are a result of swelling, the brain's reaction to the radiation. Katy will be receiving a higher dose of the steroid that is helping with the swelling. So, Katy is not dealing with anything new.
We are so grateful for this news. Going back to the emergency room because of "headaches" certainly became too reminiscent of a few months ago. I am grateful we can send out these blogs when there are needs. Thanks for being there to pray.
Kit

We continue to check Katy's update daily to see if there is any news. Even though perhaps our faith is different than Katy's, prayers in any form are powerful. Katy and her family continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Not a day goes by that we do not think about her. Thank you for this morning's update. We will continue to pray for her.

Hi, Whew. I saw Rick this morning at Tab and heard the news of the headaches. I just remembered to check the blog and was glad to see an update. Hang in there. We are one in the Lord. May His peace be with you.

I'll echo all the "whews"! Thanks for the update, Kit. I just got home from church, where we all prayed for Katy and Patty and Amy and Lenny and Rick and Frenchy. Saw Rick, Frenchy, and Anna there, too. :)
Love you all, lots!
Miriam :)
So sorry to hear you have been having such a time with headaches, but so glad for today's news that they are part of the treatment fallout. I am with you in spirit Katy, be strong. Pat Longman
Good morning, Katy, Patty, Amy, and Kit,
Just a little note to say you are on my mind and heart, and in my thoughts and prayers, throughout the day. (And Lenny and Rick and Frenchy and Anna and Patty's parents on this end.)
Fred the Ferocious survived his first obedience class last night. He actually was quite well-behaved. (He's NOT Britty.)
Hang in there, Katy--less than a week to go in radiation treatments!
Love, Miriam :)

PS Heather and Ryan arrive tomorrow night!
Hi, Katy!
I am glad to hear the news that these other headaches are treatable and somewhat expected as effects of the radiation, although I am not glad you've been experiencing them. I'll pray that they cease, and I'll pass that request along to the fasting team.
It is a beautiful day here in Chicago, so I'm going to jet out of the office for lunch. I continue to miss you and think of you often, and have many people praying for your recovery.
Peace be with you today.
Much love,
Kirsten

caelan too!
Katy,
I wish you were not experiencing headaches but, I too am glad to hear that they are a result of the treatments. You are one of the strongest people I have ever known and that is why I know you will be able to endure the radiation. Just visualize it healing your brain because GOD's hand is placed firmly on your head guiding the radiation to where is needs to go.
I pray for you and your grandfather each and every day. I have more love in my heart for you and your family then you will ever know. We are truly blessed to be in such a tight knit loving family. Through the years most families drift apart but, ours has grown to love each other more. This is the legacy that your grandfather Frenchy, Uncle John, Uncle Bill, Aunt Suzie, my mother Elizabeth and grandpa Leonard Reel Sr., bestowed upon us. You father Rick picked up the torch many years ago and has been a shining example of goodness for all of us to emulate in our own lives. I thank GOD for giving us the greatest gift of all, the gift of Love. For through love Katy, you shall be made well again.
Much Love...
Karen Craft
Katy,
Sorry to hear of your recent headaches. I found some comfort that at least it's due to your treatment and the swelling can be treated. You're always in my thoughts and prayers, as well as in Sperry's, that you will be feeling up to your old self in no time flat. Thanks for the updates. There's so much going on over here. I was practically living at school day and night in order to get ready for Open House. I've had testing & report cards to get working on; a couple weekends away from home (San Francisco & Victorville); redoing a lot of adoption paperwork since we have switched to Russia (Bulgaria is moving super slowly)-We're adopting two sisters, ages 5 & 6; working at our church's annual festival...the list goes on and on...Last night I was up until all hours of the night trying to do the second girl's bedroom (we already did one for one girl)in the Disney Princess theme. I bought some rub-on stencils at Home Depot but they were more complicated than I thought. Snow White almost was mistaken for Captain Hook but I was able to fix her hands so you can't tell.
As another school year comes to a close, I'm reminded how quickly the years fly by (#17 is finishing up) and how much I miss seeing your smiling face; your uplifting spirit; your fun sense of humor. You are truly incredible and with all that you've been through recently. YOU SHOULD BE ONE OF THE INCREDIBLES (Okay, I know, enough with the Disney...now I know I need to get some rest!)
May our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ bless each and every day for you with an abudance of hope, courage, encouragement, good health, inspiration, faith, and love, as well as with all of his other very wonderful and miraculous blessings.
Take care and you'll always continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
Lots & Lots of Love,
Pano
Hi, Katy, Patty, and Amy. We were so thankful to see you and spend a little bit of time with you. Amy, KK would like to speak with you a bit more about your education decisions when we can arrange that. We also would like to come to Neighborhood Ministries to find out firsthand where you are. I apologize for being out of touch. Just got back from Young Life camp a couple of nites ago and am still in a big of a fog. I still get people at church, even this morning, who ask about you, so you still have a mighty army of prayer warriors supporting you. Much love, vicki king
Dear Katy,
Last day for radiation! (Unless something has changed that I haven't heard yet.)
May you feel and sense God's protecting and loving arms around you this day even more than you have previously.
Have a safe trip back here later this week (all of you)...hope to see you or at least your mom, but if we can't connect, that is OK.
Love and hugs,
Miriam :)
