A difficult night

It was a difficult night again, but for different reasons.

Katy was having trouble waking up in the night particularly around 3 and 4 am. It was hard to wake her up, to give her her pills. She moans and doesn’t really talk.

At 8 am Katy was still pretty unresponsive and had a fever of 102. Patty called Heather and they decided to call the ambulance and hurry her to the hospital.

She is being cared for right now.

Please pray, I’ll follow this up later in the day with a report.

Thanks, Kit, for your immediate update. Miriam has kept us up to date on daily details, which are so appreciated because it reminds us how to pray (and TO pray!). To God be the glory. Much love, vicki king and family

Dear Reels,

I'm so sad to hear about all the trouble Katy's been having recently. I'm sure you must all be exhausted. We're praying for you and trusting God with Katy.

We had a beautiful time of prayer at Tab for Katy last week. Jeremy and Peter came with me (Sally). We forgot to sign the book Miriam had out for you because we were having such a nice time visiting with old friends.

May God carry you all through this trial!!

In His love,

Sally for all the Johns

I am going on a prayer walk this morning, Katy . . . to bring you and your family before Jesus. Let there be respite from pain, let there be healing. We are standing with you in love and faith,

I have talked to Miriam, this morning. My heart is heavy for Patty, Rick, Lenny and Amy. My prayer is for those strong and comforting arms of Jesus to enfold you all and hold you up. In Him is your strength. It never seems like enough, to me, to say such things, but I know they are true.

All of you who have known Katy and been close to her, wherever you are, have contributed so much in this walk through illness, the march that leads to the entrance into the valley of the shadow of death.

A pastor I heard only one time pointed out that (1) we walk *through* the valley; and (2), for the believer, it is the valley of only the *shadow* of death, and our Shepherd is there, leading us.

I used to have a piece of music, a song I have never heard sung. I don't remember the title, and certainly not the composer. All I remember are these lines:

"This isn't death, it's glory; it is not dark, it's light. This isn't stumbling, groping; this is not faith, it's sight."

Dear Jesus, help us to see Your Hand, and to hold on tightly!

With love,

Kit, would you please post the address of Katy's family so we can send cards? Is there anything we can do for the family besides pray?

Dear Reels,
My heart cries for all of you. You are in my prayers.
I Tim. 6:12 (my paraphrase) "Katy fought the good fight of faith and took hold of the eternal life of which she was called and made good confession in the presence of many witnesses".

Isaiah 60:1 "Arise and shine, Katy, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you."

Love, Julie Hudson

To Katy's family, I will keep praying for you during this time for your comfort and peace. How sad it is to lose someone so dear, so precious as Katy. I knew her and experienced her gentle ways through NM staff. Whenever I think of her it is with a smile because that is how she always touched me and those around her. She has been a joy to know.
